**REQUIREMENTS**
• iPhone® running iOS 13 or later
• DIRECTV customers must have a Residential Home account registered on DIRECTV’s website to access the DIRECTV app for tablets
• Watching On Demand or select Live TV Streaming channels outside the home requires an active Wi-Fi or 3G/4G Internet connection. For best performance, connect to a strong Wi-Fi signal.
• Available content is based on your current programming package and premium service. Not all content is available to stream at this time
• Live TV Streaming in-home only channels and remote control requires a Wi-Fi connection to your home network and a DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR (models R22, and HR20 or higher) connected to a broadband Internet connection. Remote control also works with HD receivers (models H21, H23 or higher) connected to a broadband Internet connection
• DVR streaming and downloading requires Internet-connected Genie HD DVR model HR44 or higher and compatible mobile device. To download, must be in-home on same Wi-Fi network connected to DVR
• App download, advertisements and non-streaming app activity may incur data usage
• Scheduling a recording requires a Wi-Fi, or mobile network connection and a DIRECTV Plus® DVR or HD DVR
• Receivers do not require phone or Internet connection to schedule a recording
in rare instances, scheduled recording(s) may not be recognized. Only available on certain receivers.

App rarely works the way it’s supposed to. Can’t access it most days

And the DIRECTV app has crashed nonstop for the last two months, unable to access my DVR or schedule DVR recordings via the app. The app crashes every time I launch it, I’ve called DIRECTV and I get no answer except a call we are aware we’re having problems with the app. Deleting will not use again, as there is no point to waste space on my phone for an app that does not work!

This app has taken the title of the worst, pathetic, piece of crap app to ever have been made. Never before have I been more inconvenienced by a glitchier app than this one, and now I am more sure than ever that I will strongly recommend everyone avoid starting TV service with Direct TV and AT&T. This app freezers, drops service, displays error messages, requires constant reboots, auto-plays undesired channels and then we you actually choose the channel you want to watch, plays the audio for both the auto-played channel and the channel you want. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable given the amount I’m paying for service, once that I have not been able to enjoy a single day of because of the constant technical glitches and errors that continue to linger despite updates claiming to fix them. I am encouraging everyone I know to switch to DishNetwork and Comcast because you are unapologetically trash.

Ive had nothing but trouble with directv and trying to watch shows on my iPad or computer from day one. It comes up with error or needs an update to flash player. Flash player is no longer supported in Mac/apple products according to the information from their update site. I would like to watch shows and am paying for the service with the understanding that I can but a have never been able to.

The app is no longer working on the iPhone 11. An error continues to pop up. I’ve removed and added back several times and even turned my phone off and on, but nothing helps. Please fix!

I haven’t ever had any issue with using the app on my iPhone 10 and it seems like after the most recent update I continue to to get unknown error and can’t get onto the app. Starting to get very frustrating, I have deleted the app and reinstalled! Any help you can provide is appreciated.

I am helping babysit my great-granddaughter and doing some projects for my grand-daughter. Bringing my IPAD I can watch weather, news, and favorite shows. After the latest software update, I’m not able to connect. It doesn’t except my password, and it says error then for some reason it kicks me to the Apple Apps store. I tried to booting my cell, deleting and reinstalling the app but no luck

I’m going to cancel my direct tv because after years of waiting, their app doesn’t work on Apple devices. This app will not work on my iPhone and iPad. I spent hours on the phone with their tech support to no avail. They simply cannot make a app that works on Apple devices.

Some apps have bugs... this one hosts a figurative anthill!!! Every other time I go to login it declares my password expired. Go change the password, then it’s “unspecified error”. This is the service we use in our home and so many issues come up just for the family to stream on different devices because we all want to watch different shows. This is the worst app I’ve ever used! I can hardly get it to go straight to home. I don’t want CNN as my first page. I would like to set my own live opening! Then all the glitches that arise. Paying my bill is a nightmare as it redirects or reopens only to tell my I’m logged out! Grr! I can no longer stream on my tablet cause it’s not compatible. I have no issues with other streaming apps. But the one we purchased for our home TV’s is the one giving us so many problems. Please Help!!!

I love the app, but it’s frustrating that you can’t pause a show (from your DVR playlist) to do something on your phone and come back to it. The app glitches and you have to close the whole app to get back to your show.

Version 5.25.202 (and now Version 5.25.302 as well) has kept our iPhones 8 PLUS and iPad from accessing DIRECTV FOR 2 weeks now with AT&T’s Digital Escalation Dept. and AT&T’s Outage Dept. unable to fix the relentless “Error: Unknown Error” popping up when the DIRECTV app icon is tapped. Therefore, we no longer can even open the DIRECTV app since the Version 5.25.202 was initiated 2 weeks ago on 3/30/2021. We called AT&T for assistance with the various agents assuring us that the tech experts would correct the problem on 3/30, 4/1, 4/2, 4/6, 4/7, 4/10, 4/13. After many hours of being on the phone with AT&T, we have been told that there may be no way to fix this.

Does not support Picture in Picture on my phone and it takes too many clicks to get to the channel that I want to watch? Need to check messages? The app restarts itself and doesn’t maintain the channel that I was watching when I switch back using the app switcher. Just a bad implementation overall.
