PhotoSpotsNPUS was developed for photographers, but will provide valuable information on scenic locations to sightseers and hikers. All 59 National Parks are easily accessed on maps and satellite images with most parks offering details on locations known for fantastic photo opportunities. Each spot provides a representative thumbnail image of the site and valuable information such as directions and parking insights. The free app includes one or two sample photo spots at each park to illustrate what’s available. A total of 580 spots are available through In-App Purchase by park location or a single all-parks package. For photographers and sightseers planning a park visit, this app will make the planning much easier.

In addition to the photography spots, the user can mark points of interest and create a location log with notes detailing the spot. This information is synced across devices to be easily accessed if the app is installed. The user can also plan routes for driving or hiking on roads or trails. Weather information along with sunrise and sunset times for the parks is also quickly provided. Location information uses satellite GPS positioning and should be available wherever the sky is visible (only iPads with cellular capability can provide GPS without a wifi connection). Maps are available with wifi or cellular service and can be prepared for use even when connectivity is not available. Weather information will need wifi or cellular access.

Download the app to explore the app’s functionality for free. Use the app when visiting parks to view maps and track your location. Use In-App Purchases to gain insight about photography locations as you visit each of the National Parks.
