Homophones are words that sound alike, but differ in meaning and spelling.

Homophones can cause confusion when writing. The word may be spelled correctly, but it is the meaning that makes the difference.

Homophone BINGO reinforces the correct meaning for sound-alike words by using visual aids and context-strong sentences.
What a great learning game for children who are learning to read, loving to read, or struggling to read!

The fun begins by selecting a BINGO card of 9 boxes or 25 boxes.

Next your child has an option to have visual clues for support.

When the game begins, your child will hear one homophone at a time. The speaker says the homophone, then reads a sentence using the homophone, and finally repeats the homophone.

Your child will then determine the correct spelling of the homophone. If the BINGO card has the homophone on it, your child can mark that box. A prompt will immediately indicate if the response is CORRECT or INCORRECT. If the response is INCORRECT, the sentence is revealed, allowing the player to select the correct word.

Your child has the choice of completing a row of words or filling in the entire card to win BINGO!
Homophone BINGO can be played over and over again. With 150 different words, each BINGO card is sure to be different.
